Jim wanted to stay in the community he loved.

His family stepped in whenever they could, travelling to the island and taking turns providing care.

But public home support wasn't reliable.

Some days support arrived. Other days it didn't. There was no continuity, no predictability, and no way for the family to sustain the burden alone.

Eventually, they had no choice but to move Jim into long-term care outside of his community.

He lost the place he called home.

No family should have to choose between exhaustion and institutional care because home support isn't available when it's needed.
